Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen is Chelsea’s Back Up for Jadon Sancho
There have been a lot of movements in the world of football regarding the upcoming summer transfer. Following the transfer flops in the previous windows, Chelsea managed to secure a couple of transfer negotiations for the better performance of the team next season. Even so, some more players remain under the telescope of Chelsea to further strengthen the team in its overall performance. It is always interesting to pay attention to new signing probabilities in a top team like Chelsea. In the past times, Chelsea has done some high-end transfers in such surprising manners. Will that happen again in the upcoming transfer window?
Previously Chelsea’s head coach Frank Lampard has managed to secure the movie of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. Werner is secured for GBP 49m while Ziyech is secured for GBP 38m. Despite the success in bringing those two players to Stamford Bridge, Lampard has more options for new players to sign. Jadon Sancho is one of the players that Lampard is keen to bring to Chelsea. Unfortunately, the deal is unlikely with the report from ESPN implies that Sancho could favor a deal with Manchester United. It is estimated that the possible deal of Sancho to play for United will be as high as GBP 120m. maxbetsbobet
While Lampard remains keeping tabs on Sancho, a new name as an alternative to Sancho is on the line for grab. Kai Havertz who is currently playing for Bundesliga’s Bayer Leverkusen is Chelsea’s back up plan for Jadon Sancho. At the time Sancho joins Manchester United in the future, Havertz will most likely be another signing of Chelsea for its attacking regiment. The attacking part is the one that Lampard wants to strengthen with the signing of several new players in the upcoming summer transfer. Both Ziyech and Werner are good players but more players are still needed.
Kai Haverts is most likely the choice of Lampard instead of Philippe Coutinho of Barcelona. Coutinho has been circulating in the transfer list of Barcelona either for a loan or a full transfer. The asking price of Barcelona for Coutinho is GBP 9m for a loan with GBP 250,000 of weekly salary. Meanwhile, a full transfer will cost as high as GBP 70m which is pretty close to the cost of signing Havertz from Leverkusen. The fact that Havertz is 7 years younger than Coutinho is amidst the crucial considerations of Lampard to favor Havertz just in case Sancho is going to United.
Even though Havertz’s contract will not end as early as 2022, the team is keen on selling him in the upcoming transfer window. The sporting director of Bayer Leverkusen expressed that Havertz is one of the current exciting talents of European football. He added that there have been a lot of interests from great clubs in Europe as well as Germany for Havertz. It will not be an easy deal for Chelsea to secure Havertz though. Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Manchester United are all going to put up a fight against Chelsea in securing Kai Havertz.
